PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. THIS IS A LEGALLY BINDING DOCUMENT.
By signing this waiver, you agree to participate in a session that may include cold immersion (e.g., ice baths), hot sauna use, and contrast therapy, delivered by Northumbrian Sauna and Brass Monkey Health Ltd.
1. Health Declaration I confirm that: - I am physically fit and have not been advised by a healthcare professional to avoid strenuous or high-stress activities such as sauna, ice baths, or cold water exposure. - I do not suffer from any medical conditions that may impair my ability to safely participate, including (but not limited to): heart conditions, epilepsy, high or low blood pressure, breathing disorders, fainting, pregnancy, metal implants, or recent surgery. - I understand that cold immersion and heat exposure carry risks, and I accept full responsibility for any adverse outcomes. - I am not under the influence of alcohol or drugs and will not enter the sauna or ice bath while affected.
2. Assumption of Risk I acknowledge and understand that the activities involved — including hot and cold exposure, physical and emotional stress, and temperature fluctuation — carry inherent risks, such as: - Cold shock, breathlessness, hypothermia - Dizziness, fainting, dehydration - Heat exhaustion, muscle strain, slips/falls - Injury, illness, or death I voluntarily assume all such risks, both known and unknown.
3. Right to Refuse or Remove I understand that the event leaders, including the Sauna Master (Fenwick Ridley), reserve the right to deny access, stop participation, or remove me from the session if they believe it is unsafe for me to continue. This includes signs of poor hydration, medical distress, inappropriate behaviour, or ignoring safety guidance.
4. Waiver and Release of Liability In consideration of being allowed to participate, I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, executors, and assigns, hereby waive, release, and discharge: - Northumbrian Sauna, Brass Monkey Health Ltd, and all affiliated event staff and hosts from any and all liability, claims, or causes of action arising out of my participation — including injury, illness, disability, death, property damage, or loss — whether caused by negligence or otherwise.
5. Indemnification I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Northumbrian Sauna and Brass Monkey Health Ltd from any liability, claims, demands, or damages arising out of or relating to my actions or participation in the activity.
6. Medical Consent If I am injured or become ill during the event, I authorize trained staff or medical personnel to provide first aid or medical treatment as deemed necessary. I understand this does not create an obligation or duty of care beyond what is reasonably available on-site.
7. Photography and Media Consent I understand I may be photographed or recorded during the session. I grant permission for my image, video, or likeness to be used for promotional, educational, and social media purposes by Northumbrian Sauna and Brass Monkey Health Ltd.
8. General Conduct & Safety - I agree to follow all safety instructions provided by the team. - I will bring a towel, remain appropriately dressed, and behave respectfully at all times. - I understand the importance of proper hydration before, during, and after the session.
9. Legal Jurisdiction This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. If any provision of this waiver is held to be invalid, the remainder shall remain in full force and effect.
